Gutfeld on July 4th parade shooting: There’s a ‘type’ in every one of these cases

Greg Gutfeld pointed out Tuesday on “Five” that recent mass shootings seem to follow a pattern and discussed what the media can do to stop sensationalizing these tragedies.

GREG GUTFELD: I think that each of these cases, these demons correspond to a certain type. They are these very white, unstable, anxious looking people. I feel like you can’t judge a book by its cover, but in some cases you can. I think there is a connection between disturbing, unstable behavior and people who they deliberately try to appear unattractive and unapproachable. This could be their cry for help. If you look at Antifa, this is what they look like. I think there’s a red flag there that a lot of people in the name of what we’re not going to point out and walk away – when someone is intentionally trying to permanently disfigure themselves or look in a way that makes them unapproachable, what are they trying to do to you say? If beauty is the guide to what is possible, then what is intentional ugliness? Why would anyone do it? We no longer ask this as people continue to disfigure themselves in so many different ways. I’ll be an old saw about it. It wasn’t suicide; it was suicide plus the only reason you are doing this is to create a spectacle for attention.

4TH OF JULY PARADE SHOOTER’S UNCLE SAYS THERE WERE NO ‘WARNING SIGNS’ HE WAS GOING TO ATTACK

So I think it’s a pretty square copycat case because happened on the heels of these others. So what’s the point there? There are enough mass shootings to see these trends to see that they are mostly young white males. Not all of them, but they are rare enough that you can look at each one. If you separate them from gang shootings, domestic shootings, any kind of criminal use of a gun – just look at the people who shoot for the sake of shooting. Always affected by the previous attack. If you think you can reduce those attacks by 30%, 40%, 50%, why not do it?

The media could do that. We can just report the facts, be one, and walk away instead of giving continuous coverage. Remember that the media can decide not to cover something. Hunter’s laptop, they were easy with that. Border Chaos doesn’t cover that. The riots after George Floyd, they didn’t reflect that. Look at the Akron shooting. They said they covered the 60 shots fired by police, but not the fact that the man fired first. So they know how not to cover things up.
