One person is confirmed dead after RCMP responded to a shooting in Langham, Sask.
RCMP in Saskatchewan issued an emergency alert Friday for a dangerous person after a shooting in Langham.
Langham is about 32 kilometers northwest of Saskatoon.
People in the area were asked to take shelter and lock their doors.
Shortly after 11 a.m., Corman Park police posted on social media that the suspect had been located and there was no threat to the public.
RCMP announced at 12:15 a.m. Friday that the alert had been cancelled.
Police believe there is no further risk to public safety and the shelter in place has also been lifted.
The suspect has been identified as Justin Heimbecker. He is described as 6ft 3in tall with brown eyes.

“Everyone here is wondering what’s going on,” said Langham Coun. Carol Epp, in an interview with the Canadian Press.
She said residents in the area were alerted on their phones to shelter in place. Saskatchewan issued an emergency alert at 7:40 am
“We haven’t left the house. We see flashing lights and police cars going back and forth,” she said. “I just hope everyone is okay.”
Ted Slavinski, a Langham business owner, said he didn’t even know about the shooting before he left town.

“The area of the city where I was working early this morning was pretty quiet,” he said in an interview with Global News. “But once I got out of town, things got a little spooky. I was pulled over by the police and they asked to search my car.
In a news release, RCMP said the shooting happened in the community early Friday morning.
