However, Biden is mocked for reading the “end of quote” and “read the line again” instructions.
Elon Musk mocked Joe Biden after he made another gaffe during a speech about his new executive order following the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision.
The president was speaking after signing an executive order to provide protections for women seeking abortions in response to the court’s June 24 overturn of Roe v. Wade.
During the speech, Biden also read instructions after the quote ended: “Remarkably, the percentage of women who have registered to vote and have voted is consistently higher than the percentage of men who do. End of quote.”
He followed: “Repeat the line. Women are not without . . .”
Among those who mocked him were Washington Times columnist Tim Young, as well as Tesla’s CEO.
Musk, who has been feuding publicly with the president for months, tweeted on Friday along with a meme: “Whoever controls the teleprompter is the real president!”
The feud between the president and Musk began when Tesla was not invited to a White House electric car summit in 2021, despite accounting for about three out of every four electric car sales in the US over the past three years.
Earlier this year, Musk called Biden a “wet sock puppet in human form” after the president left Tesla out of the EV discussion.
The world’s richest man previously said anyone over the age of 70 should be banned from running for political office. Biden and his White House predecessor, Donald Trump, are 79 and 76, respectively.
Although the US sets a minimum age of 35 for presidential candidates, there is no upper age limit.
