The Penticton Indian Band has issued a public notice to people to cease and desist from using the KVR trail on their land as it has been washed away in several places.

According to the notice, the old Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR), as shown on the map below, is a “private” trail owned by the PIB.

“You are trespassing if you walk this path without the group’s permission. We are particularly concerned about people entering the trail as it is washed out in several places and is unsafe for any use,” the notice said.

Residents and visitors should avoid the area until further notice.
