Law enforcement has frequently visited the suspect at the shooting house in Highland Park, Illinois, over the years, according to newly released police records.
Police records from 2009 to 2014 show domestic disputes between Robert Crimo III’s parents, Robert Crimo Jr. and Denise Pessina, that included allegations of both verbal and physical abuse.
In one of the 2010 police reports, Crimo Jr. claimed Pessina “hit him on the left forearm with a screwdriver,” but later declined to add that to his written statement.
In another incident, he claims she hit him on the head with a shoe.
An August 2010 report detailed claims by Crimo Jr. that the argument began over their “failed relationship” after he said he came home to find his wife intoxicated.
Pessina told police she was upset about an incident earlier in the day when Crimo Jr. “disrespected and belittled” her and the argument began after he “started commenting on her bad looks.”
The reports also detailed episodes of intoxication and numerous escalating arguments. The documents also include allegations of harassment by a neighbor, but no arrests have been made in connection with those reports.
