Joe Biden’s approval rating falls to 30% after brutal week: Civiqs poll

How low can it go?

President Biden’s approval rating has fallen to just 30%, its lowest mark ever, in a new national poll.

The daily Civiqs Poll, which tracks registered voters, found that less than a third of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance — and a full 57 percent disapprove.

“Joe Biden’s presidency is sinking with a thousand holes in the boat,” said GOP consultant Ryan Girdusky.

The poll, released Friday, found Biden deep in the water with voters in every age group, every education level and both genders. Each of these groups showed approval levels below 40%, with the youngest voters, ages 18 to 34, among the most disaffected at a dismal 21%.

In only two of the 50 states, dark blue Hawaii and Vermont, did Biden’s supporters outnumber his opponents.

Democrats and black voters are the two groups still in the president’s corner, the survey found — and not by much.

Only 56 percent of African-Americans — the most loyal Democratic voting bloc — expressed approval, and Democrats overall hit 64 percent, a new low.

Even more galling, Biden’s overall approval rating of 30% was far below the 39% Civiqs recorded in 2017 as President Donald Trump’s lowest on record — and not even close to his 44 approval rating. % that Trump scored at the same point in his presidency.

The survey came at the end of a dark week for Biden, as the specter of recession loomed, gas prices remained near record highs, parents continued to scramble for baby formula and the July 4th mass shooting reignited the debate over gun control.

His administration has drawn fire from all sides for failing to secure supplies of monkeypox vaccine and admitting that Border Patrol agents are not whipping migrants, as Biden claimed.

After weeks of brutal criticism from left-leaning Democrats for his lackluster response to the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade, Biden sought to ease pressure in his party on Friday by signing an executive order designed to help women who they want an abortion.

Calling the decision an “exercise of raw political power” and a “huge step backwards,” Biden sought to show a firm and fierce resolve.

But he botched his podium performance badly, sparking widespread derision for an apparent “Ron Burgundy moment” when he botched a bit of stage direction – “Repeat the line” – while reading a speech directly from a teleprompter, just like the infamous Will Ferrell character.

“Whoever controls the teleprompter is the real president!” tweeted Tesla billionaire Elon Musk.

The RealClear Politics polling average, which aggregates the results of multiple polls, puts Biden’s approval rating at 38 percent — but it’s also an all-time low for the president.

Democratic consultant Chris Coffey, CEO of Tusk Strategies, said the party had no reason to despair.

“Bill Clinton was in his 30s before he was easily reelected,” Coffey noted. “Everyday polls mean less than standing your ground and doing what you think is right and letting the American people see and hear that.”

But Girdusky predicts nothing but trouble for Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections.

“Unlike Trump, who has often been seen as his own worst enemy, Biden seems helpless and just sitting on the sidelines while the country burns,” Girdusky said. “Democrats have nothing to capitalize on in the midterms except the abortion decision … but it won’t be enough.”
