NYPD shoots Raoul Hardy in Queens, threatens to kill Gov. Kathy Hochul

New York police officers shot and killed a man who threatened to kill the governor and other top officials, saying he would “blow up” the world Saturday night, cops and sources said.

Police arrived at 205-17 116th Ave. in Cambria Heights after receiving the threat from a man identified as Raul Hardy shortly after 6 p.m., sources said.

Hardy, 60, said he would “change the government” by killing New York Gov. Cathy Hochul and NYPD Commissioner Kichant Sewell and also threatened to “blow up” the world, according to law enforcement sources.

Responding officers shot and wounded the suspect after he opened fire, according to the NYPD.

Hardy’s cousin told The Post that he came to the crime scene after receiving a call from another relative who warned that his aunt was in trouble.

His cousin from Washington called me. He told me to go to my aunt’s house because we are thinking [Hardy] he was probably shot,” said 56-year-old Brian Ware.

“All my life I’ve known him to live there,” Ware said. “I never knew there was a weapon.”

Hardy, who has multiple prior arrests in domestic incidents, did landscaping work, according to his cousin.

No employees were injured, sources said.
