Trump: Elon Musk ‘another bull artist’

Former President Trump called Tesla CEO Elon Musk a “bull artist” at an event in Alaska late Saturday for supporting the former president’s opponents in 2016 and 2020.

“The other day he said ‘oh, I’ve never voted Republican,'” Trump said at a rally.

“I said, ‘I didn’t know that,'” Trump continued. “He told me he voted for me, so he’s another bull – an artist.”

Musk tweeted last month that he was voting Republican for the first time because he endorsed Mayra Flores, a Republican who flipped a traditionally Democratic House seat in a special election in Texas.

Tesla’s CEO donated to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, according to Federal Election Commission records. Musk then confirmed the donation.

Musk told the Qatar Economic Forum last month that he was “undecided” about a potential Trump re-election bid after saying days earlier that he was inclined to support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in 2024.

Sources told The Hill that Trump is getting more serious about launching the 2024 election, even as other top Republicans, such as DeSantis, fuel speculation about his own White House ambitions.

Meanwhile, Trump weighed in on a number of primaries and general elections in this year’s midterm elections.

He stumped in Alaska on Saturday in support of Gov. Mike Dunleavy (R), Kelly Chibaka, who is challenging moderate Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R), and former Gov. Sarah Palin (R).

“Another one of our highest priorities in a Republican Congress will be to end left-wing censorship and restore free speech in America,” Trump said at the rally.

Musk had struck a deal to buy Twitter, promising to reduce content moderation on the platform in the name of free speech and implement other features such as an edit button.

On Friday, Musk announced he would drop the $44 billion offer after saying the company did not provide enough information about the number of fake accounts. Twitter said it would sue Musk to honor the deal.

“Who the hell knows what’s going to happen,” Trump said. “He’s got a pretty crappy contract. I looked at his contract, it’s not a good contract.

Musk said he would reverse Trump’s ban on Twitter if he bought the company, but Trump said he would stay with his own social media platform, called Truth Social.

“Go out by the way while I’m here and sign up now for Truth Social,” Trump said Saturday. “He’s hot as a gun.”
