Florence Pugh has hit out at “vulgar” men who attacked her for wearing a revealing dress

Florence Pugh wants the world to know she’s proud of her body — nipples and all.

The Black Widow actress has hit back at the “aggressive” and “vulgar” criticism she received after she shared a photo on social media of the see-through dress she wore to the Valentino haute couture show in Rome.

Pugh made a bold statement on Friday in a sheer pink tulle dress with a plunging neckline. And while many fans loved the look, critics took issue with her visible nipples.

In a fiery Instagram post shared on Sunday, the 26-year-old British star revealed she’s been bombarded with negative messages about her dress and body.

According to Pugh, while she expected “commentary” on her choice of outfit, it was interesting to witness how easy it is for “men to completely destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly.”

“This isn’t the first time and it certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body from a crowd of strangers, what’s alarming is how vulgar some of you men can be,” she writes next to her 7.5 million Instagram followers.

Pugh said she has come to terms with “the ins and outs of my body” and is happy with “all the ‘flaws’ I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14”, before hitting back at the criticism.

“So many of you wanted to aggressively tell me how disappointed you were with my ‘small tits’ or how I should be ashamed of being so ‘flat,'” she wrote, adding: “I lived in my body for a long time . I’m fully aware of my breast size and I’m not afraid of it.”

Calling out the social media users who body-shamed her, she wrote: ‘More worrying is… Why are you so afraid of breasts? Little ones? Big? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none? What. Well. So .Horrifying.”

She then advised those who left disparaging comments on her post to “Grow up. They respect people. They respect bodies. They respect all women. They respect people.”

Pugh captioned the post alluding to Instagram’s ban on pictures of female nipples, adding the hashtag “#f**kingfreethef**kingnipple.”

Pugh’s post was welcomed by fans and other celebrities who left messages of support. Actress Joey King wrote: “You really are so amazing. You put into words what so many feel but cannot articulate.’

Actress Aubrey Plaza said: “Okay, that’s what I was saying.

TV personality and social commentator Jamila Jamil wrote: “You are a magical fucking queen and we don’t deserve you.”
