“Jersey Shore 2.0” faced serious casting and production issues before going on hiatus

There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the sudden hiatus in production on ‘Jersey Shore 2.0’ … but we’ve learned it’s almost a miracle the show even came close to filming given the casting and production hurdles MTV faced , to refuse him from the earth.

Our sources say the show’s new cast was brought to Atlantic City to prepare for production last week … but there were some serious problems the producers faced in finding the right group of people.

For example – we’re told one ‘2.0’ hopeful was 86 years old after producers were alerted to some homophobic and racist social media posts by a relative. However, our sources say this is not the reason for the production halt.

As for production woes … the show’s producers first wanted to house the cast in the original “Jersey Shore” house, but the city shut that down … citing the terrible reputation the first show gave Seaside Heights.

Sources connected to the show tell us … even though crates of camera equipment were removed from the house this week, the show hasn’t been canceled. In fact, we’re told show honchos are using the next few weeks to regroup with an eye toward resuming production.

MTV is keeping quiet about exactly why they’ve pulled the plug — at least temporarily — all they’ll say is that the show is temporarily on hold.

It remains to be seen exactly how the producers will make “2.0” work, whether it’s with a new cast than planned, or maybe even a rebrand … but one thing’s for sure, the OG cast of Pauly D, The Situation, JWoww , Snooki and the gang certainly won’t be getting involved.
