Passenger plane flips on its back in crash at international airport in Somalia | World news

Dramatic footage has captured a passenger plane flipping over during an emergency landing on an airport runway.

The incident took place at the Aden Ade International Airport in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu.

The crew and all passengers on board – about 30 people – escaped.

Video from the scene shows the plane upside down after apparently flipping over on landing.

Black smoke and flames billowed into the air as fire trucks approached the runway and firefighters began hosing down the wreckage.

The Jubba Airways plane was arriving on a domestic flight from the inland city of Baidoa.

The company said the plane was a Fokker-50, which had a turboprop engine.
