London’s fire service has had its busiest day since the Second World War, the Mayor of London has said

Tim Stock, who alerted the fire service and whose own house was destroyed in the Wennington fire, told BBC Radio 5 Live that he and his son spotted the fire in his neighbour’s garden, but despite their efforts with a hose and watering can, no managed to stop its spread.
