Langley shooting: Emergency alert sent out in British Columbia

A suspect has been arrested after multiple people were shot at several locations in Langley, British Columbia Monday morning, Mounties said.

The incident prompted two emergency calls early Monday.

The first call was made around 6:20 a.m., saying the incident happened in the central Langley Township and Langley Township. It said the incident involved “transient victims” and that police were “interacting with one suspect.”

Then a second alert, sent about an hour later, said “the suspect that police were interacting with is no longer a threat.”

Police said alerts were issued while investigators confirmed the suspect acted alone.

Police confirmed that a man had been arrested and said he was believed to be responsible for the shooting.

While the investigation is ongoing, many areas in Langley Township and Langley Township are closed to the public. People are asked to stay out of the area near 200 Street and the Langley Bypass; the Cascades Casino parking lot at Fraser Highway and 204 Street; and the Langley Bus Tour at Logan Avenue and Glover Road.
