A 31-year-old London woman has been charged with murder in the death of a woman in a First Nations community southwest of London.

Koree Dockstater faces a charge of second-degree murder in the July 19 death of 27-year-old Shaniqua Henry, Middlesex OPP said Thursday. She was due to appear in a London courtroom on Thursday.
OPP officers, paramedics, Munsee-Delaware First Nation Police and Thames First Nation Oneida Nation Police responded to reports of a sudden death in the early morning hours of July 19 at an address on Jubilee Road in Chippewas on Thames First Nation. The death is being treated as suspicious.
At the time, police did not release the identity and gender of the deceased.

The investigation by the Middlesex OPP Major Crimes Unit and the provincial coroner’s office is continuing, police said Thursday.
Henry’s funeral was held on Saturday. She is survived by her daughter and partner and will be missed by her family and friends, her obituary said.

Friends and family members took to social media to express their shock and sadness at Henry’s sudden loss.
“Every day gets harder for us because we know she’s never going to come home and walk through that door again,” her aunt, Colleen McLaughlin, wrote in a Facebook post.
“She was a beautiful young woman who left a light in my heart,” Rudy Minhinick wrote in a post, saying Henry would “glow” when she talked about her daughter.
“Shanika spoke very highly of her grandmother and was grateful to have her in her life.”
