No charges in collision that killed student Salt in London

Police confirm no charges will be filed in the death of Sault Ste. Marie-née Maia Nenonen, who died as a result of a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision in London, Ontario. April 11.

The 21-year-old Ivey School of Business student was fatally struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a townhouse complex in the 900 block of Western Road, where she lived.

“A thorough investigation into this tragic incident was completed and concluded without charges,” London Police Department spokeswoman Cathy LeBlanc said in an email to SooToday on Thursday. “No other information will be shared out of respect for the victim’s family.”

Nenonen began her time at Western University four years ago as a 2018 health sciences student, transferring to Ivy in 2021.
