Teen responsible for 4 separate sexual assaults in Toronto: police

Toronto police say they believe the same teenager is responsible for four recent sexual assaults on crosswalks in the city’s east end.

Police issued a public safety alert Wednesday after the latest incident, which happened July 23 on the East Don Valley Trail near Wynford Heights Crescent.

In that case, investigators said a 52-year-old woman was walking on the trail when a teenager riding a bicycle approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her. The suspect then walked away in an unknown direction.

A day earlier, on July 22, between 2pm and 4pm, a 54-year-old woman was walking along the same path between Wynford Drive and Sloane Avenue when she was attacked.

According to police, an unknown man began talking to a woman and asked her for water before sexually assaulting her.

The suspect then got back on his bike and biked away, police said.

On July 8, at approximately 5 p.m., another similar sexual assault occurred on the Gatineau Hydro Corridor Trail, just east of Birchmount Road.

Investigators said in that case, a woman was riding her bicycle on the trail between Birchmount and Kennedy roads when a teenager followed her and pulled over. He then allegedly asked to show the woman the “11-finger Tik Tok trick” before sexually assaulting her.

The first incident happened on July 7, just after 5:30 p.m., also on the Gatineau Hydro Corridor Trail, just west of Birchmount Road.

Police said a woman who was running east on the footpath between Crockford Boulevard and Birchmount Road when she was attacked by an unknown teenager.

Investigators said the suspect blocked the woman’s path with his bicycle before sexually assaulting her.

The suspect in all of these attacks is described as a teenager, about five feet five, with a slim build and short brown or light blond hair.

He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and black shorts and carrying a “distinctive” brown backpack with a camouflage design. He also rode a dark mountain bike.
