Fans of live music in West Kelowna will have to wait.
The release of “Music in the Park” on July 29 has been postponed due to the hot weather.
The Westbank Country Opry was the scheduled headliner with Gayle and Carl Hourigan as the opening act.
City of West Kelowna Recreation and Parks staff will work with event organizers and performers to find a new date for the performances scheduled for Friday.
Residents are reminded that there are public places in the city where you can cool off during the current heat advisory, including the Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Center, Westbank Museum, Westbank Public Library and Kids Care Spray Park. Spray park hours have been extended from 8:30am to 10:00pm until further notice.
The City of West Kelowna is ready to help in an extreme heat event if one is declared by Environment and Climate Change Canada.
