A new study ranks Canada fifth among OECD countries for the best work-life balance.
Compiled by financial technology company Tipalti, the study ranked the top 10 countries from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) based on their work environment and benefits, using indicators such as average hours worked in a year, annual salary, tax rates and pensions.
Switzerland took first place with the highest average annual salary of the countries analyzed and the highest average pension assets per person.
The United States, with the lowest combined tax rate in the top 10, ranks second, followed by Iceland, Norway and Canada.
The study found that Canadians work an average of 1,696 hours in a given year, earning an average of $43,540, with a combined income, sales and corporate tax rate of 64 percent and $41,987 in average pension assets per person.
