Old Marina Restaurant ‘looks ready’ after huge fire in Puslinch

A massive fire has destroyed much of the Old Marina restaurant in Puslinch. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Cambridge, Puslinch, Guelph, North Dumfries and Kitchener responded to Saturday’s fire on McClintock Drive.

Puslinch Fire and Rescue Service said the structure of the restaurant was “fully involved” in the fire.

News of the fire sparked a wave of reactions on social media from former diners of the restaurant.

“Absolutely awful,” tweeted Steve Thomson. “We were supposed to be there tonight for a family dinner. Great place to eat, we will [definitely] support as they recover.”

“Extremely saddened by the Old Marina fire,” wrote April King on Twitter. “So many of us have made lasting memories here. I’m glad to hear everyone is okay, but I really feel for the owners and staff at the moment.’

“Looks done,” tweeted Kathleen O’Grady. “It was always a favorite of mine when I visited my hometown.”

Fire crews will be on the scene Sunday to determine the cause of the fire.
