Police in Durham say they are looking for a man suspected in connection with a shooting in Ajax that sent three men and three women to hospital.
Investigators had not previously released details about the alleged shooter.
They would only say that this person fled the crime scene in a dark colored four door vehicle.
In a news release, the Durham Regional Police Service further elaborated on the Aug. 1 incident.
They said at 1:20 a.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the rear of Dam Foods at 154 Harwood Ave. S., south of Highway 401.
At the scene, police said they found five people who had been shot at the scene.
A sixth person who was also shot turned up at a Toronto hospital, they said.
Police said four of the victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the other two were critically injured. All the victims are now listed in stable condition, they said.
Investigators also said they believe the suspect attended a “customer appreciation party” that was held in the back of the local Caribbean market.
They said he was “involved in a verbal altercation with several patrons” and left the restaurant, but returned hours later and opened fire.
“(We) interviewed several attendees of this after-hours party and continue to seek witnesses and evidence that would help identify the suspect(s),” they said.
