Four Bunibonibee Cree Nation men are recovering in hospital from gunshot wounds after an incident Sunday night.
Oxford House RCMP say it was around 9:30 p.m. when they received reports of shots fired near East Back Lake Cemetery in the northeastern Manitoba community.
While officers were responding, another call came in saying three male victims had been dropped off at a local medical center with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. A little later, a fourth man arrived at the station with similar injuries.
Investigators believe a group of people gathered at a prearranged time and place where a conflict occurred that led to the injuries.
Four men, ages 28, 26, 17 and 16, were transported to a Winnipeg hospital and remain there in stable condition.
Police do not believe this was a random incident and are actively investigating.
