The body of a woman who went missing last week has been found in Vancouver’s downtown Eastside neighborhood, according to police.
Kwemcxenalqs (Kwem) Manuel-Gottfriedson, 24, was found dead in a building near East Hastings Street and Hawks Avenue on Saturday, according to a brief statement from Vancouver police.
Manuel-Gottfriedson was last seen Wednesday in Coquitlam and her phone has since been pinged twice in Vancouver, according to a missing person poster circulated online.
The Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death.
A department spokesman said the cause of death had not been determined Tuesday and the Coroners Service was investigating.
