Calgary police say speed and alcohol are being investigated as factors in a rollover Tuesday night that seriously injured a man.

The crash happened in the area of ​​Deerfoot Trail and Barlow Trail SE around 11 p.m

Investigators say the victim was traveling southbound on Deerfoot Trail in a 2014 Ford Mustang when she entered the median separating Deerfoot Trail and Barlow Trail and continued up the barrier.

His vehicle was thrown a “significant distance” before it overturned, according to police.

Paramedics took the 42-year-old driver to the hospital in serious and life-threatening condition.

He was the only person in the vehicle at the time.
