People in Canada were left stunned after massive hail shattered windshields and stranded commuters on Monday. According to CBC News, the hail was caused after a tornado passed through Alberta, a western province in Canada.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said the storm lasted about 10 to 15 minutes and damaged about 34 vehicles. A number of people also suffered minor injuries and three collisions were reported as a result of the sudden baseball-sized hail.
On social media, several people shared images of their cars after the storm. The photos show damaged windshields and dented cars.

According to Newsweek, the size of the hail caused concern. Julian Brimelow, executive director of Western University’s Northern Hail Project, even suggested they may have broken records. He said they received reports of “grapefruit and softball sized hail.” He also added that many stones were over 10 centimeters in size.
