The new Sudbury resident suffered minor injuries as a result of an altercation with three teenagers
A New Sudbury man suffered minor injuries after he was shot in the face with a handgun on Aug. 2.
Sudbury Police say officers were dispatched to a home on Arvo Street around 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 2 in reference to a gun complaint.
“The information provided was that three youths visited the residence and got into a verbal and physical altercation with the residents,” GSPS said. “As a result of the prevention, one of the young men shot the home owner in the face. The three youths left the area on foot before the police arrived.
As a result, the 46-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
Officers were provided with physical characteristics and a description of the clothing of the three youths, as well as their direction of travel. It didn’t take long for the police to track them down.
The trio of teenagers were located in the area of Falconbridge Road and Lasalle Boulevard and arrested without incident.
As a result, all three were charged. A 15-year-old girl has been charged with assault. She was released on bail with a court date of October 13 to answer to the charge.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, making threats to cause death or bodily harm, failure to comply with a release order and failure to execute a bond.
The third teenager, another 16-year-old boy, is charged with threats to cause death or bodily harm, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and failure to comply with a warrant for release.
Both 16-year-old boys were held overnight and were due to appear in court on bail on August 3 to answer the charges.
Youths’ names cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
GSPS said a K9 search of the route used by the youths when they left the residence recovered a handgun and knife, both of which are believed to have been used/displayed during the altercation.
