Apple announced the new version of its iOS and iPadOS operating systems at its annual WWDC 2022 developer conference in June. The company is expected to start rolling out iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 in September this year with the launch of the iPhone 14. However, an online report now suggests that Apple will not launch iPadOS 16 with iOS 16. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple may delay the launch of iPadOS 16. The report claims that the company plans to release iPadOS 16 in October. Why the iPadOS 16 release delay The report suggests that the Stage Manager feature of iPadOS is the main reason behind this delay. As Bloomberg reports, the Stage Manager multitasking system is taking longer than expected to fully develop. During the beta testing phase, developers criticized the Stage Manager feature for having bugs. The feature is also said to be incompatible with many of the existing iPad versions that iPadOS 16 will support. “During beta testing, the system drew criticism from some developers and users for its bugs, confusing interface, and lack of compatibility with most iPads.” Advancing the release schedule will also allow Apple to put more engineering resources into completing iOS 16, the software update that will be included in the iPhone 14 in September,” the report said. The report also adds that the company may launch iPadOS 16 with the launch of new iPads in October. Apple is expected to launch new iPads at an event in October. The alleged iPad Pro is rumored to be powered by the company’s M2 chipset. Along with this, Apple is also expected to launch a new entry-level iPad with a USB Type C charging port.
