Emergency services are dealing with a ‘security incident’ near Wrexham

Emergency services are dealing with a safety incident in Llangollen.

The incident is on the river at Pontcysyllte, with a number of emergency services at the scene.

North Wales Police asked the public to stay away from the river at the time.

An NWP spokesman said: “Local officers, NPAS aircraft and emergency service colleagues are currently dealing with concerns about a safety incident in the river at PONCYSYLLTE LLANGOLLEN.

“Please stay away from the river at this location until further notice.

“We will issue an update when available.”

The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed it was at the scene, a spokesman said:

“We are at the scene, we have dispatched two EMS ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and air ambulance colleagues in response.

North Wales Police have been contacted for further information.
