Former President Barack Obama traveled to Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin this month to canvass Democratic candidates weeks before the midterm elections.
First, on Oct. 28, he heads to Atlanta, where Stacey Abrams is making another bid for governor against incumbent challenger Gov. Brian Kemp, and Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock is facing off against former pro football star Herschel Walker.
Biden has yet to campaign with Abrams or Warnock.
In a release, Georgia Democrats said Obama will encourage residents to vote in the final week of early in-person voting in the Peach State.

The next day, he headed north, joining Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist and Michigan Democrats in metro Detroit.
Biden appeared at a Whitmer fundraiser in September.

A release from the governor’s office said the event will focus on issues such as abortion, voting rights and public education that he says are “at risk in Michigan.”
Obama will also join Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, Attorney General Josh Kaul, Sen. Tammy Baldwin, Congresswoman Gwen Moore and Democrats up and down the ballot in Milwaukee.
Wisconsin Democrats said the stakes “couldn’t be higher,” citing restoring access to reproductive health care and “protecting democracy.”
Biden visited Wisconsin over the Labor Day weekend, but Barnes did not appear with him.

“If we want our democracy to work, we need to show up in these elections for the governors, secretaries of state and candidates who will protect voting rights and our election process,” the former president tweeted Saturday. “Because these seats have a lot of power, and that power matters.”

He shared a clip from a recent interview on the “Pod Save America” podcast that premiered on SiriusXM’s Progress channel, in which he discussed the conversation about preserving democracy when the U.S. Supreme Court “doesn’t seem that invested” and stressed the importance of ensuring , that the party has quality candidates for whom it turns out.

“Because it could be that with a close presidential election at some point, you know, certifying an election in a key swing state could be an issue. And it’s going to be really important to have people there who play straight,” he explained.
