Police shot and killed a parolee brandishing a gun during a brawl in upper Manhattan Sunday morning.
Uniformed officers were at Nagle Avenue and Dyckman Street in Inwood around 3 a.m. when they saw the 29-year-old man with a gun involved in a fight and ordered him to drop the weapon, NYPD Chief of Patrol Jeffrey Madry said .
“They’re watching a dispute,” Madry said. “As they approached the dispute, they noticed a man with a gun in his hand fighting in the crowd. The officers exit their vehicle and command the subject to drop the firearm.

The officers shouted “repeated commands” and then dropped their weapons, he said.
“They fire several rounds, hitting the suspect with the gun around the body,” Madri said.

Another man in the crowd suffered a laceration, but it was unclear who shot him, Madri said.
Four police officers fired their weapons, Madri said. They were taken to a local hospital and treated for tinnitus.
Police are not sure what the disturbance is about.
