Black Adam producer disappointed by the film’s big leak

Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia isn’t happy about the film’s big cameo being leaked.

Warning: This story contains spoilers for Black Adam.

During an interview with /Film, Garcia explained why it was so disappointing to see details from Black Adam’s mid-credits scene — which reintroduces Henry Cavill’s Superman to the DCEU — splashed across social media.

“Oh my God, it’s so frustrating,” he said. “You work so hard, but look, we understand that this ending and this dream, this family dream that we had to live, we knew it was going to have an effect on the fans who were just like, ‘Oh my God!’ We have heard them pray for this for so long.

On the other hand, he might want to talk to star Dwayne Johnson. During press for the film, the Black Adam star was… uh… more than a little vocal about whether or not we’ll see superhero cameos.

“Here’s what I can tell you,” he said. “The whole purpose and initiative of Black Adam was to build the DC universe by introducing not only Black Adam, but the whole of it [Justice Society of America]. Five new superheroes in one movie, and also – as I’ve said all along – there’s an ethos that we have at Seven Bucks, which is that we always put the fans first. The audience comes first.”

He ended by telling Henry Cavill simply, “Welcome home.”

I don’t play very coy when it comes to this superpowered cameo. Still, Garcia doesn’t seem to attribute anything directly to Johnson and sidesteps the issue.

“We’ve wanted it for so long,” Garcia said. “It’s disappointing that it’s running out. We hope that the fans who are so passionate about it really do their best to block it so they can go get the movie and enjoy it.”

Of course, Johnson has been hinting at a showdown with Superman for years, promising fans that they’ll “definitely” be fighting in an upcoming film. There is no official crossover movie in the cards right now. It remains to be seen when this superpowered clash will hit the big screen, but if Black Adam does well at the box office, I have a feeling it won’t be too long.
