Actor Jeremy Renner was ‘absolutely crushed’ by a snowplow that left him with serious injuries.

The Marvel star underwent two surgeries at a Nevada hospital after the “tragic” accident, which left him on a “long road to recovery.”

He was trying to save his car from the snow when he was accidentally run over by the heavy snowplow he was driving.

“We can confirm that Jeremy suffered blunt force trauma to the chest and orthopedic injuries and underwent surgery today (Jan. 2),” Renner’s family said in their initial statement. “He has returned from surgery and remains in intensive care in critical but stable condition.”

On Wednesday (Jan. 4), TMZ obtained details from the log taken by emergency responders at the time, including details of the 911 call that provide further insight into Renner’s immediate injuries.

According to the publication, Renner, 51, moaned in the background of the call due to his pain.

The recording notes that the right side of Renner’s chest collapsed and that his upper torso was crushed.

The plow accidentally ran through one of the actor’s legs, despite a large array of safety features, resulting in heavy blood loss, a neighbor said.

In his first post since the accident, Renner shared a selfie from his hospital bed with the caption: “Thank you everyone for the kind words. I am [sic] too confused now to write. But sending love to you all.

Do you need a license to drive a Snowcat?

After the sheriff’s press conference, a reporter asked if anyone could drive a Snowcat or if they needed a license to operate one.

“It was on a private road, so he can drive that Snowcat. In this case, as Mr. Renner always does, these private roads. He was a great neighbor and plowed those roads for his neighbors there. They had three legs again,” replied Sheriff Valaam.

Now, while the Marvel actor was on private roads, many companies require professional Snowcat operators/drivers to have at least a driver’s license. Some even require their drivers to go through training and certification before operating a Snowcat.

Jeremy Renner is a “great neighbor,” says the local sheriff

In recent weeks, Jeremy Renner has become known in his Nevada neighborhood for helping out with the accumulating snow.

According to Sheriff Darrin Balaam, the “Hawkeye” star is a “great neighbor” and always uses his snow blower to clear local roads.

“Throughout the community, he was very generous and he’s one of those people that most of the time you don’t know they’re doing it, but he had a huge impact on this community,” he told US media.

Why did Renner own PistenBully?

Although more commonly owned commercially, this type of heavy-duty machine is becoming fashionable for private use, especially in the mountains of Colorado.

In particular, Renner lives in Reno, Nevada, where they experienced extreme snowfall this December. There was 3 feet of snow in the area the evening before the accident.

The New Year’s Day snowstorm left more than 17,500 homes without power in Washoe County, where Renner lives.

Right before the accident, Renner was clearing snow from the driveways around his neighborhood.
