More Freezing Rain Warnings

After much of New Brunswick faced hours of freezing rain Friday through Saturday, Environment Canada has issued more freezing rain warnings for southern areas of the province.

The warnings are in effect from Sunday evening until Monday morning.

“Precipitation will start as sleet in the afternoon and gradually change to freezing rain Sunday night.” Freezing rain and ice pellets will continue into Monday morning before warmer air finally changes the precipitation to rain,” says Environment Canada.

The warning says ice accumulation is likely from this storm.

The parts of New Brunswick under a warning as of late Saturday afternoon are:

  • St. John and District.
  • Sussex.
  • Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County.
  • Oromocto and Sunbury County.
  • Moncton and southeastern New Brunswick.
  • Grand Mannan and coastal Charlotte County.
  • St. Stephen and northern Charlotte County.
  • Grand Lake and Queens County.
  • Fundy National Park.

Environment Canada says freezing rain warnings are likely to be extended to other parts of New Brunswick on Monday.
