Week 2 preview: The Galaxy S23 series arrives on February 1

Since September, every weekend roundup we’ve done has included at least some Galaxy S23 story. It’s getting to the point where you’d think we’ve seen every Galaxy S23 series leak possible, but week after week we’re getting new pieces of the puzzle.

The biggest of the many S23 stories this week was the confirmation that Samsung has officially confirmed that it will hold the announcement of the series on February 1st. The Unpacked event will start at 18:00 UTC and will be streamed live. And Samsung opened the reservation for the S23 series at the same time.

Earlier in the week, we received official promotional videos of the Galaxy S23 series, but they have since been taken down. A few days later, we received official press renders showing finished versions of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Wrapping up the S23-related content, we got to see dummies of the three phones for a size comparison.

Meanwhile, we published our Samsung OneUI 5.0 review and you really liked it.

Beyond the Samsung camp, we saw the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ go on sale in India. The Redmi Note 12 has a base price of INR 17,999 ($220/€205), while the Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ start at INR 24,999 ($305/€285) and INR29,999 ($370/€340), respectively.

Windows has ended support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, so if you’re using either, you should consider updating.

Those were the key stories from week 2, but you can find the full list below. See you in a week!
