During halftime of tonight’s snoozefest NFL Wild Card game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys, Disney+ and Lucasfilm delivered some real drama with the exciting official trailer for the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian, and it’s just as awesome as you’d expect. imagine
The trailer quickly brings us back up to speed with Dean Jarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu as they embark on a wild new adventure across the galaxy that will see them cross paths with new friends – including what appears to be a Jedi – and even more dangerous enemies as they make their way to Mandalore.
We’ve also learned that the eight-episode season will include episodes directed by Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Famuyiwa previously directed The Child, The Prisoner and The Believer; Weathers directed “The Siege” in Season 2; and Howard was behind “Sanctuary” in season one and “The Heiress” in season two. The Jurassic World Domination star also helmed The Book of Boba Fett’s show-stopping The Mandalorian Return.
The third season of The Mandalorian begins airing on March 1st.

The Mandalorians’ journeys through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once lonely bounty hunter Dean Jarin reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.
The series stars Pedro Pascal, Kate Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow and Giancarlo Esposito.
The eight-episode Season 3 directors include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Jon Favreau is the showrunner/head writer and serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are co-executive producers.
