Margot Robbie surprised by former Neighbors co-stars

Margot Robbie may be a bona fide Hollywood star these days, but she’s not about to forget her Australian soap opera roots.

The actress, who got her break on Australian soap Neighbours, was surprised by a few of her old co-stars from the long-running show during an interview with Heart Radio’s Dev Griffin.

As she sat down to discuss her latest big screen outing in Babylon, Dev revealed that he had a little surprise for the 32-year-old star.

Margot was then shown a video of Neighbors stars Alan Fletcher (Carl Kennedy) and Jackie Woodburn (Susan Kennedy) congratulating her on her highly successful post-Neighbors career.

“We just wanted to remind you that the Kennedy house really does have a lot of bedrooms…so if things ever get too much for you, don’t worry, just come home, we’ll make room for you,” the pair told her.

Cue an emotional Margot who says, “Stop. I could actually cry. I don’t know how to describe how emotional that is.”

“Jackie invited me over and taught me how to roast a chicken and feed myself,” she recalls.

“Fletch would teach me how to manage my money and my finances. And Toadie taught me how to do my taxes. It’s just like such a family.”

It’s shaping up to be another busy year for Margot.

Babylon is currently wowing audiences and critics alike, and this year will also see the long-awaited Barbie movie starring Margot alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken.

The first promo for the film, which is slated for a July 2023 release, dropped in December, and it’s even bigger than we imagined.

Listen to Heart Evening with Dev Griffin weekdays at 7pm in the UK and on Global Player.
