Extensive fire damage

A garage in West Kelowna caught fire late Monday morning.
Just before noon, the West Kelowna Fire Department responded to a building fire on Emerald Road.
Crews arrived to find a fully contained garage fire with equipment exposed.
“Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. There was extensive damage to the shop and surrounding excavation equipment,” Assistant Fire Chief Lionel Bateman said.
The fire is under investigation.
The fire department also reported casualties.
The West Kelowna Fire Department responded with two engines and two water trucks, along with 15 firefighters, a safety officer and a command unit.
