The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) has announced an outbreak of COVID-19 in the inpatient unit at the Clinton Community Hospital site.
According to a news release, the department is now closed to admissions until further notice.
The HPHA said the outbreak refers to two or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 among patients or staff members that could have been acquired at the hospital.
The presence of family and carers on the ward is limited, except for palliative patients at the end of life. HPHA said care teams will regularly inform families and carers and inform them of options.
An outbreak of COVID-19 was declared at the inpatient unit at Seaforth Community Hospital over the weekend.
On Friday, the HPHA announced that the emergency department at Seaforth Community Hospital would close temporarily overnight on Sunday due to “sudden shortages of healthcare staff”.
“As COVID-19 is still circulating in our communities, we would like to remind everyone to layer their
protection to help prevent the spread,” said Erika Jensen, manager of quality, patient safety and infection
control in the news release. “This means keeping up with your shots/boosters, wearing a mask when in indoor public places, washing your hands often and staying home if you feel sick.”
