Val Brooksmith: Missing informant who gave details to the FBI about Trump’s deals with Deutsche Bank, found dead in high school in Los Angeles

A whistleblower who worked with federal authorities investigating the relationship between Donald Trump and Deutsche Bank was found dead on Monday.

Val Brooksmith, 46, was found dead on the campus of Woodrow Wilson High School on Block 4500 on Multnomah Street on Monday.

The Los Angeles County Court of Justice said Brooksmith was pronounced dead at 7 a.m., according to Sergeant Rudy Perez of the Los Angeles School Police Department.

He had disappeared last year, and the Los Angeles Police Department said he was last seen on April 6, 2021. Although he disappeared physically, his Twitter account remains active. He posted a new profile picture on April 5th.

Journalist Scott Stedman, who works for the Forensic News website, confirmed Brooksmith’s death in a tweet. He wrote: “My friend Val Brooksmith was found dead today. He was 46. He provided me and other journalists with Deutsche Bank documents that highlighted the bank’s deep ties with Russia. It is very sad. I do not suspect bad games. Val was fighting drugs anyway. ”

He added in another tweet that “I haven’t spoken to Val since January and many more months before. I wish I had. ”

Los Angeles Police Captain Kenneth Cabrera was also quoted in the Los Angeles Times as saying authorities did not suspect a rough game.

In 2019, Brooksmith handed over to the FBI hundreds of documents left by his father, Bill Brooksmith, as they investigated links between Deutsche Bank and the former president.

Mr Stedman also reviewed the whistleblower’s past and wrote: “Val’s father took his own life in 2014 and this has engulfed Val in recent years. Seeing his life end so short is incredibly depressing. ”

David Enrich, author of Dark Towers: Deutsche Bank, Donald Trump and an Epic Trail of Destruction, writes: “Val was my longtime source and the main character in my book. We had a complicated relationship, but it’s just devastating to hear. “

Born in Ukraine and adopted by Bill Brooksmith, Val Brooksmith had a history of opioid abuse. Mr Stedman tweeted: “I don’t suspect bad games.
