The 92nd Major League Baseball All-Star Game kicked off Tuesday (8 p.m. ET on FOX and the FOX Sports app) and it’s one for the books.
In the first All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium since 1980, the National League looks to close the gap on the American League, which holds a 46-43-2 series lead. Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Shane McClanahan of the Tampa Bay Rays were the starters.

Here comes the boom
Enter Tony Gonsolin to lead off the top of the fourth.
Chaos ensued. Giancarlo Stanton tattooed a ball almost out of the park and Byron Buxton flipped another to give the AL a 3-2 lead after back-to-back homers.
Not exactly the home field advantage Gonsolin was hoping for in his first All-Star appearance.
Rock Paper Scissors
In the bottom of the third, Framber Valdez sent the National League down in order — with three ground balls — while two Yankees were on the microphone.
It turns out that Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge are playing games like charades or rock, paper, scissors, or just trying to guess what the pitcher is throwing.

Gerrit Cole and Max Fried discuss why hitting a home run as a pitcher might be the best way to run around the bases. Turns out they’re both big fans of the versatile DH. Meanwhile, the AL went hitless in the top half of the third inning.

Mike Trout is out tonight with an injury. But the Los Angeles Angels superstar said he still made sure to attend the game to support teammate Shohei Ohtani.

One change to this year’s contest will be the extra inning home run derby rule. If both sides are even after nine, three players from each team (already selected) will participate in a tiebreaker contest.
