A search is under way in Alabama after a man accused of murder and a deputy sheriff transporting him to court disappeared on Friday morning.
Prisoner Casey Cole White and Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Assistant Director Vicki White were last seen around 9:30 a.m. as they left the detention center to appear in court, the sheriff’s office said.
The two are not connected, WVTM reported.
The vehicle used for the transport was found in a parking lot in a shopping center in Florence, officials said.
The sheriff’s office said they did not know the couple had disappeared by 3:30 p.m.
Investigators are reviewing camera footage to determine where they may have gone.
Casey White is accused of killing Connie Ridgeway at her home in Rodgersville in 2015, according to court documents received from WVTM.
