Siwa posted a video on TikTok over the weekend that went viral, in which she shared a photo of Bure, but did not elaborate on how she was roughed up.
This led the internet to try to theorize what happened between the former “Dancing With the Stars” contestants that may have caused the drama.
“I had no idea where she was coming from, so I immediately tried to contact her through a mutual friend,” Cameron Bure said. “My publicist contacted her manager and I sent her a DM because I didn’t know what happened.”
CNN has reached out to Siwa for comment.
She said she was able to talk to Siva and asked what happened because, as far as Cameron Bure can remember, they had a “great” time meeting on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Cameron Bure said the singer and former “Dance Moms” star was initially hesitant to tell her why she felt neglected by Cameron Bure because she was just trending on TikTok and “didn’t think it was a big deal.” .
But the Full House star said they are still on speaking terms.
“She said, ‘I met you at the premiere of Fuller House when I was 11 years old and we were all on the red carpet. I had come up to you and said, ‘Can I take a picture with you?’ and you said, ‘Not right now.’ And then you went on doing what you’re doing and taking pictures with other people on the red carpet,” Cameron Bure recalls Siva’s explanation.
She said Siva, now 19, told her: “You weren’t even mean and I get it now as an adult when you’re on the red carpet and everything happens and you’re pulled in different directions, but I was 11 at the time. ”
“I kind of broke your 11-year-old heart by not taking a picture with you!” Cameron Bure said, adding: “I feel sick. JoJo, I’m so sorry!’
Cameron Bure said that now “everything is fine on the JoJo front.”
And she learned from it.
“I think the lesson we can learn is to be careful, no matter how many followers you have, even a 10-second trending video on TikTok can cause damage,” said Cameron Bure. “Because our words matter and our actions matter, and whether you have 50 million followers, 500 followers or five followers, we all influence those around us.”
