Two dancers were injured at a Cantopop concert in Hong Kong after a massive video screen suspended above the stage fell on the performers below.
Thursday’s concert by Cantopop boyband Mirror was the fourth in a series of 12 scheduled concerts by the group held at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
Videos circulating on social media showed Mirror members Anson Lo and Edan Lui performing with a dozen dancers on stage when one of several suspended LED screens above the stage collapsed.
The falling screen appeared to directly hit one dancer in the head and body before toppling onto another performer as the audience screamed in horror, according to clips.
Other performers on stage rushed to help those hit by the screen, video footage showed.
Police said they were called at 10.36pm to the incident and that two dancers were sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a conscious condition.
Local media reported that the hospital said one of the dancers was in a “serious condition” while the other was stable.

In addition to the two performers who were injured on stage, three other women from the audience were also reported injured, police said. One of them felt unwell and was sent to the same hospital conscious, while two others were in a state of shock but did not require medical attention.
After the incident, the concert was stopped and the audience was asked to leave the hall.
The falling LED screen is the latest incident in the concert series. On Tuesday, one of the Mirror’s members, Frankie Louie, appeared to lose his footing and fall off the edge of the stage while giving a speech, according to clips on social media.
An online petition about the safety issues at the Mirror concerts was launched that night and has since gathered over 13,000 signatures from fans. The petition urged organizers to ensure the safety of Mirror and its dancers and to refrain from using unnecessary stage machinery or raised platforms.
Viu, the company that created and currently operates Mirror, did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.
Mirror, a 12-member group that rose to prominence in Hong Kong, is considered the revival of Cantopop and has amassed tens of thousands of fans in the city.
