A new court document claims that Brian Laudry’s parents knew that his girlfriend, 22-year-old Gabriel “Gabby” Petito, had been killed before going on a family vacation to Fort De Soto Park.
The document, filed Thursday in the Sarasota County Court in Florida on behalf of Petito’s parents and written by attorney Patrick J. Riley claims that 23-year-old Landry told his parents that Petito was dead on August 28, 2021.
On the same date, Petito’s lawyer said, the laundromat spoke with lawyer Steve Bertolino.
“While Gabriel Petito’s family was suffering, Landry’s family went on holiday to Fort DeSoto Park on September 6-7, 2021,” Riley said. “They went on holiday, knowing that Brian Laudry had killed Gabriel Petito, they thought they knew where her body was, and they also knew that Gabriel Petito’s parents were trying to find her.

Fort De Soto Park is located in Pinelas County.
Records received by Fox News later that month showed that Roberna Laudry, Brian’s mother, had registered at a park in Florida.
She canceled reservations for two people at the campsite in St. Petersburg on August 31 and made new reservations for three people in the same park on September 3 for the weekend of September 6-8.
Dwayne “The Dog” Chapman, also known as the Bounty Hunter Dog, said he learned that Laudry’s parents had spent the night there twice in early September.

“I will no longer trust this dog or be worthy of his false allegations by the time I respond,” Stephen Bertolino, Laundrie’s lawyer, told Fox News at the time. However, he told local media that the family camped on September 6th and 7th and that “everyone has left the park”.
Documents reveal that the coffers were actually registered on September 8, three days before Gabby Petito officially became missing.
Thomas Rutherford, another camper, and his wife were celebrating their anniversary at the campsite, three places below the laundry, he told Fox News.
He said he could “vaguely remember” seeing their truck and camper because he and his wife rarely see campers attached to vehicles. In addition, he had no contact with the family.
Riley wrote that Roberta Laudry also reportedly blocked Nicole Schmid, Gabby’s mother, on her mobile phone and Facebook on or about September 10.

Petito’s body was found Sept. 19 at a campsite near Grand Teton National Park in northwestern Wyoming.
While the Petito family sought information, Riley said, the laundries kept Brian’s whereabouts secret and were believed to be “arranged for him to leave the country.”
He accused Christopher and Roberta Landry of “acting with malice and great indifference to the rights of Joseph Petito and Nicole Schmidt.”
“Christopher Laudry and Roberta Laudry have shown extreme and outrageous behavior, which is behavior in circumstances that goes beyond all possible limits of decency and is considered shocking, cruel and completely unbearable in a civilized community,” he said.

The FBI announced in January that Brian Laudry had confessed to the murder in a notebook found near his body after his suicide at Myakkahatchee Creek Ecological Park.
Petito’s parents and stepparents filed a lawsuit in Florida in March seeking more than $ 100,000 in damages for alleged negligence, pain and suffering.
At the end of the month, Bertolino filed a motion to dismiss the case with prejudice, arguing that there were no facts to support their allegations of “intentional infliction of emotional stress.”
He asked the judge to prevent the Petito family from filing an amended lawsuit if his request for dismissal was granted.

Bertolino said laundries exercise their constitutional right to remain silent.
The KDFW noted that the trial did not provide evidence of when Brian Landry’s parents knew Gabby Petito was dead and where her remains might be.
Couples are expected to face trial in 2023.
