A downtown watering hole feature attracts both tourists and locals for a pint.
Shamrock City’s new deck is drawing the attention of those in the pedestrian mall in downtown St. John’s thanks to a stuffed 1,250-pound bull moose affectionately named “Shammoose.”
The moose was caught on the west coast of the province as part of a charity initiative that supports vulnerable populations. Volunteers from Team Broken Earth hunted down the animal and donated the meat to The Gathering Place.
Information panels about the meaning of the Shammoose and what it represents are posted with it. It is quickly becoming one of the most popular backdrops for downtown photos.
