The thief fled in a truck, recreational vehicles parked in Sudbury

Hikers got a nasty surprise when they returned to find their pickup truck and two recreational vehicles it was towing had been stolen while parked on the side of Highway 637.

In a release, the OPP’s West Nipissing Detachment in Sudbury said officers received a call around 10:41 p.m. on July 27.

The vehicles were parked on Crown Land near the Wahnapitea Bridge early on July 27 and were stolen while the owner and passengers were on a wooded area walk for the day, police said.

The vehicle is described as a blue 2007 Lincoln MRK pickup truck with Ontario license plate BN 93731 pulling a white 2009 Outback trailer with Ontario license plate K2221M.

The Outback trailer was also carrying a beige 2011 Can-Am Outlander off-road vehicle with Ontario tag 2AT15 inside the trailer.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the missing property and identifying the thief or thieves.
