Disapproval of the Trudeau government has reached new heights, a national poll shows.
A new Abacus Data survey of 2,400 Canadians shows disapproval of the federal government at 51 percent, the highest since Trudeau was first elected in 2015. 51 percent of people surveyed also have a negative opinion of Trudeau.
If the election were held now, the Conservatives would win with 35 percent of the vote and the Liberals would form the opposition with 30 percent. The NDP reaches 19 percent.
However, the Liberal Party is doing better in the poll in Atlantic Canada, with 47 per cent saying they would vote red, compared to 31 per cent who vote blue and 16 per cent orange. Most of the Conservatives’ support comes from the Prairies.
