RCMP said in a news release late Friday evening that Dawson Romeo — described as non-verbal and autistic — was last seen about 7:15 p.m. Friday walking west from a home about 5 km southwest of Hudson Bay. The nearest intersection is Township Road 450 and Range Road 2041, police said.
RCMP said in a release Saturday afternoon that Romeo’s body was found near the area where he was last seen on July 29. His family has been notified and police said an initial investigation has determined his death is not suspicious.
Hudson’s Bay RCMP also thanked the community groups, organizations and local residents who assisted in the search.
