After another commercial break, we return to Nissan Stadium as it’s time for our main event of the evening.
Undisputed WWE TitleRoman Reigns (C) vs. Brock Lesnar
The camera pans live inside the large stadium in Nashville, where we now hear the familiar sounds of Roman Reigns’ theme playing.
The “Chief of the Tribe” appeared with Paul Heyman holding one of his two title belts high in the air, walking behind the top dog in the WWE Men’s Division.
We also see The Usos, fresh off their Undisputed WWE Tag-Team Title defense against The Street Profits, walking up to him as well.
They eventually head to the back as Heyman continues to escort the champion to the ring for the much-anticipated championship main event here at the 35th annual WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view in Nashville, Tennessee.
Reigns is now seated in the ring and after Heyman hands him a mic, his music fades out. “The Head of the Table” begins by addressing the fans in Nashville.
“Nashville. SummerSlam. Acknowledge me!” The crowd boos as Reigns looks around every side of the massive stadium. He’s been pacing and pacing around as he waits for his scheduled opponent to enter the ring here tonight.
With that said, the familiar sounds of Brock Lesnar’s theme song play and the crowd goes wild as the former WWE Champion comes out looking ready for his WrestleMania 38 rematch against Reigns.
Lesnar stops halfway to the ring and walks away to the side where there is a huge tractor. He dons his trademark cut-sleeve flannel and then a cowboy hat before getting behind the wheel of the giant tractor.
“The Beast Incarnate” then proceeds to drive the custom massive tractor all the way to the ring where he parks it at ringside where we see a giant spoon on the front of the tractor sitting just above the top rope. He climbs up to the top of the tractor and as the ring announcer begins the official ring introduction before the match for this championship contest, Lesnar reaches over and grabs a microphone from the scoop and tells him to shut up.
Lesnar addresses the crowd a bit before eventually opening the WWE SummerSlam 2022 main event with a bang as he jumps off the spoon and splashes onto Reigns. The bell rings and we are now officially underway with this Last Man Standing match to determine the Undisputed WWE Champion.
The action quickly spread to the floor where Lesnar beat Reigns all over the ringside area and into the crowd. The match eventually finds its way back to the ring where Reigns begins to wrestle in competitive form. He blasts Lesnar with a Superman Punch. He calls for another one, but regardless, Lesnar doesn’t stay down for the ten count, so this match continues.
We see Lesnar and Reigns brawl on the floor again. This time we see Lesnar looking to jump to the top of the ringside barricade with one bounce, but he ends up slipping and falling to the floor. The commentators mention how “The Beast Incarnate” will not be happy about this.
Once again, we see Lesnar use the tractor as a weapon to inflict further damage on “The Tribal Chief”, inching closer and closer to holding the Undisputed WWE Champion for the necessary count of ten to win this rematch at WrestleMania and reclaim the biggest prize in all of WWE.
The two trade a few more lead positions in the offensive driver’s seat, though not necessarily in the actual ring vehicle’s seat. They each use every move they have in their arsenal in an attempt to keep the other down for the count of ten, but each time both continue to get back to their feet.
Now we see Lesnar back in the tractor again. This time he brings him closer to the ring and drops the scoop. He then picks it up after placing it under the ring. This causes the entire ring to be lifted into the air on one side. Reigns ends up rolling to the floor as a result of the ring being squared up so high on the opposite side that he was laid on.
It still wasn’t enough to hold off the “Table Leader” for a ten count from the match official.
We see Mr. Money In The Bank 2022 running out with his briefcase in hand. He sprinted down to the ringside area, certain that this one was over. He tries to hand the MITB briefcase to the ref, only to get bumped and laid out.
Now we see Jimmy and Jey Uso coming down from the back. They tangle, but not for long as Lesnar beats them down and puts them down. Paul Heyman walks over and tries to tell Lesnar that he’s been his meal ticket for years and he’s ready to rejoin him.
Brock doesn’t hear him though. Instead, he lifts Heyman up and drops him with a vengeance – putting him through the table in the process.
Now we see Reigns finally recover and get back to his feet. He comes back in and starts fighting the challenger some more on the floor at ringside.
In the end, we see Reigns grab his Undisputed WWE Championship belt. He builds up full steam and goes after Lesnar.
He blasts Lesnar into the dome with it and lays him out. Lesnar somehow manages to get to his feet before the count of ten. However, he stumbles a lot. Reigns does the same thing again, and yet, albeit a little more unsteady this time, Lesnar manages to get back into a vertical position.
Finally we hear Reigns yelling at Lesnar, “stay down and then — you’re not welcome back!” He runs in and hits Lesnar with the title belt for the third time.
This time he guarantees victory by piling a load of heavy crap on him. The ref starts his count and this time it counts to ten. Roman Reigns emerges victorious again against Brock Lesnar. “The Tribal Chief” is still your undisputed WWE Champion.
Winner and STILL Undisputed WWE Champion: Roman Reigns
