A man was arrested and charged in connection with driving while impaired after a fatal hit-and-run in Toronto Saturday morning.
In a tweet, Toronto police said they were called to the area of Wilson Avenue and Clayson Avenue around 3:35 a.m. after reports of a hit-and-run pedestrian.
Toronto paramedics transported the pedestrian to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said the driver – a 42-year-old man – fled the scene but was located by officers.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving, police said.
Roads in the area were closed after the collision.
