Mounties are trying to identify a man who was found dead in Okanagan Lake in West Kelowna Friday afternoon.
RCMP in a news release say officers received the report of a body in the water under the William Bennett Bridge near Shelter Bay Marina around 1:15 p.m.
“Officers attended and confirmed that a male had died in the shallow water,” the squad said in a statement.
The Major Crimes Unit and the British Columbia Coroner’s Office are investigating the cause of death, including “any potential criminality,” the statement continued.
Meanwhile, RCMP in West Kelowna are asking for help identifying the man. He is described by police as being of “Asian ethnicity” and aged between 20 and 40, of medium height and slim build. He was wearing a black collar and black trousers when discovered.
